Making Rice Krispy Treats

Lesson Plan

Introduction:  We will start by greeting each other and going over the rules for class.

Learn  our Ingredients: During this time, we will use flashcards to learn and  practice the different ingredients we will use today. The teacher will correct  students’ pronunciation during this time. The teacher will also go over what  the ingredients are in depth with the students.

Fun  Game Time: We will take a short break for the students to run around and have  fun while playing a game that encourages them to speak English.

Ingredients  Sentence Time: During this time, the students will practice using the  ingredients they learned in a sentence such as: “The Butter is White” or “The  Marshmallows are so yummy” or “The Sprinkles go on the Frosting.”

Snack  Time: We will take the students to wash their hands and then to the activity  room for a light snack.

Song  Time: During this time, we will sing songs together as a class. The song will  be “Ram Sam Sam”, “Move The Circle”, or “Pizza Man.” These tunes will help  the students to have fun while listening and building a comprehension for  unique English terms within the songs.

Zoo  Break: During this time, we will go into the theater and play Zoo Break. The  teacher will say “If you are wearing blue” and if the students are  wearing blue they have to run to the other side. This game will help the  students listen to the teacher and know what to do.

Fun  Game Time: We will take a short break for the students to run around and have  fun while playing a game that encourages them to speak English.

Making  Rice Krispy Treats:

We’ll  name off all the ingredients, mix them together, and finish by eating up our  treats.
